The Current Situation
As the construction of our village hall enters its final phase, the Stanton-under-Bardon Village Hall Trust is carrying out all the necessary preparation work to ensure that the opening of the hall for use is as seamless and straightforward as possible. The Trustees are currently identifying essential requirements and equipment for the hall and preparing to obtain quotations to put before the Parish Council, who are sponsoring the scheme and who are the ultimate owners of the hall. We need to be in a position to order all this material as soon as the hall is formally handed over to us by the builders. Obviously, there are many other considerations which the Trust are investigating e.g. insurance and licensing requirements; in short, a great deal of work is being done ‘behind the scenes’ to enable us to open the hall for use in late spring/early summer. Please keep in touch with us via this website or via our Facebook account for regular updates on progress.
Business Sponsorship
The Trust has contacted many local businesses to appeal for sponsorship and donations to provide additional funds to those provided by the Parish Council. To date, we have received a very generous donation of £500 from Midland Quarry Products at Bardon. We remain hopeful that other companies may also respond in a positive way.
Application to the Parish & Communities Initiative Fund
The Trust has applied to the Parish and Communities Initiative fund for a financial contribution towards several essential items of capital equipment which are required to enable us to open the hall on time. The Trust will use its entitlement as a registered charity to enable it to apply for grants from public and private bodies whenever this is deemed appropriate in order to help maintain a high standard of equipment in the hall.
